5.0 out of 5 stars Searing slow cooker, 15 Oct. 2012
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Morphy Richards Accents 48703 Sear and Stew Slow Cooker - Black (Kitchen & Home)
This is pretty much the same as my original Morphy Richards slow cooker but instead of a ceramic inner bowl this one is metal. This means it can be used on the hob, before starting the slow cook. This is useful if you want to thicken a sauce or bubble off some wine! I originally thought that there was an extra setting on the cooker itself. The liner is non stick.
Having three settings is useful. In fact you can almost bubble on High, so is useful, say, for cooking things like dumplings towards the end of cooking.
I had no temperature issues with the original slow cooker and non with this either.
I am delighted with both!

Hello! I'm reviewing your comments about crockpots, as I'd like to buy one. About this model, could you please tell me if it can be used on a glass-ceramic hob also??

Thanks in advance for your help.

At the moment I am using a very large Crockpot and have been very happy with it but as there are only two of us at home now it would be sensible to use a smaller slow cooker. Does the searing slow cooker have an automatic keep warm feature? My Crockpot automatically goes into keep warm mode when the cooking time is finished and I find this a very useful feature.

No it doesn't have a keep warm feature, sorry. Or a timer. You'd have to use a plug-in type timer on the wall socket for timer function, but they're very cheap.

Thank you for replying to my query, I have bought the item and am also using a separate auto timer.
