not just the fork.....,
This review is from: Consider the Fork: A History of Invention in the Kitchen (Hardcover)

The fork actually plays a fairly small part in this book but is a satisfactory title. The author, Bee Wilson, has considered all aspects of food and its preparation and has written a masterly book packed full of information, but in a pleasantly chatty, easy-to-read style. She has assembled the most extraordinary amount of detail about such everyday things as casserole dishes and wooden spoons and cookers and a myriad of other items - a bewildering amount of facts to absorb but always presented in such a way that it is a real pleasure to read. Cooks of all kinds, male and female, as well as lovers of food will find this absolutely fascinating and hugely entertaining. A really perfect present for any cook and because it is so well written and not angled at the domestic front, any man who cooks or enjoys his nosh will enjoy reading this too. I really recommend this.
