This is one of the best books i have ever read...as soon as I finished it I started reading it all over again. I (was) a complete sugar addict - kidding myself that sugar wasn't really fattening cos there's no fat in it!! how wrong was I!! The author tells you the physiological processes that occur whenever you ingest sugar - and how bad it is for you - and how the body has no need for it whatsoever. If someone had suggested to me before I read this book to give up sugar and sweets and chocolate I would have said no way. Since reading this book (yesterday!), no sugar has passed my lips and i intend to keep it that way. She explains that after 30 sugar free days all the sugar will be out of your system and you will stop getting cravings. She tells you how to beat the cravings by accepting the reality that if you're going to eat fattening foods you will be fat. It is one of those books that is totally enlightening and you will be quoting bits to your friends cos it is just so true! If you are a binger, a sugar addict, a perma-dieter - or all three - then you need this book!
