This review is from: Western Digital My Book World Edition 1TB Home Network Storage (Personal Computers)
If you have a lot of data to backup, say 700GB, it will take you nearly a week at the rate of 6GB per hour. There is no way to trasnfer at a faster rate as the USB port is only for adding extra storage. That is, you can't connect it with your PC and transfer data quickly.
The automatic backup software included is not free.
You can't run Squeezecenter despite claims from another reviewer.

It may actually be possible to copy using the USB port though it's not straightforward. If that's important to you do a little search first.

There is probably something wrong with your network if you can only get 6GB per hour. I'm currently ftp-ing some files up at a rate of 11.3 MB/s. That's about 40GB per hour. I dare say it would be faster if I had gigabit ethernet on the PC I'm transferring from. I'm basically maxing out my 100 Mbps ethernet on the PC.

I see. Maybe mine is slower than usual however others have pretty much reported similar speeds. Using copy manager it allows you to transfer date fast from the USB.
