Cracking FPS in story mode,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Far Cry 3 (Xbox 360) (Video Game)
I just wanted to write a quick fire review on here to give my first impressions of Far Cry 3. This game is bonkers in its design, execution of characters, plot, gameplay, feel, art, sound and graphics. To date I haven't even bothered with either the multiplayer mode or the co-op mode, which I am told are both equally as immersive as the story mode that I am currently enveloped in. Coming to Far Cry for the first time from playing plenty of shooters (Battlefield, COD, Crysis) and open world games (Red Dead, Skyrim, GTA) I was a little worried about the idea of an open world first person shooter where that was the primary gameplay feature. I love open world games and I love shooters, but I have been jaded by others in the genre that have tried to cross the two successfully only to dilute one of those elements, (as this is brief I won't so which games I'm referring to) - so I was blown away by just how well this game has been put together.
Graphically few games take my breath away - the character design is absolutely razor sharp and the environments are just so pretty it almost seems a shame to blow stuff up:)
In short, it looks amazing, I'm addicted, and I am hard to please. It's good for shooter fans, it's good for action adventure fans, it's good for people who like their characters to interact with every facet that the open world has to offer. Stunning graphics, stunning views, bonkers story line, mad as anything characters and not so OTT that the story gets spoiled. You can, run, gun, drive, swim, hand glide, throw knifes, set up booby traps, use C4, land mines, assassinate people in stealth, hunt wild game, and that is only the stuff I've done so far after less than ten hours of gameplay - I've said enough! Five star all the way and I might buy Far Cry 2 to see what I've been missing:)
