Old School Safety Razor - Good Product, Nicely Finished!,
This review is from: Edwin Jagger Imitation Ebony Double Edge Safety Razor (DE86) (Personal Care)
Customer review from the Amazon Vine Programme (What's this?)
Having tried all manner of shaving products, I find myself gravitating back to the old school methods. Having gone through the double / treble / quadruple / quintuple headed blades, and having used electric razors (I've yet to try an electric razor that gives the satisfactorily smooth finish that you get from the ol' steel!), I was given the opportunity to try the Edwin Jagger classic styled single blade safety razor courtesy of Amazon's Vine programme. On taking it out of it's dinky little black box, the razor itself is small - a mere 9 cms long, but it is impressively weighty, and the barrel has a sleek, polished ebony shaft - looks very smart - the blade is housed in the head, of course, and is inserted in time-honoured screw in way. As for the shave, like all wet shave razors, it benefits from using a good quality shaving soap (I can heartily recommend the Taylors of Old Bond Street Shaving Cream (http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0007MW2ZW/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i01?ie=UTF8&psc=1), which cuts down on razor burn. However, the Edwin Jagger proves its' worth, providing a good quality shave without too much effort - much more destrous at getting into hard areas under your nose and the neck area. Highly recommended product.
