1.0 out of 5 stars Doesn't keep drinks hot!, 18 Jan 2014

This review is from: BESTEK 470ml Leak & Spill Proof Double Wall Stainless Steel Car Travel Mug Vacuum Insulated Tumbler Coffee Tumbler Autoseal Mug office cup thermal flask on-the-go beverage container BTVT550 (Kitchen & Home)
In many of the reviews I read when looking for a travel mug, a lot mentioned whether the mugs leaked, very few people seemed to mention how good the travel mugs were at actually keeping tea or coffee hot. Well I can say in the case of this product, it doesn't manage to do what it's designed to do beyond about and hour and a half. Fine if you just want to take a coffee on the morning commute, not much use if you're out on a hike and what to take a hot drink with you. The product claims are therefore plainly false. I tested the flask very carefully. I currently have a Stanley 0.53 Litre Classic Mug, Green that really does do an excellent job at keeping things hot but doesn't fit the cup holders in my car. I will keep looking and return this one.

Hi Adrian
I think yours must have been faulty. I tested mine thoroughly having had to send the first one back for leaking. I filled it with boiling water and tested the temperature two or three times. The last time being after 12 hours when the water was still pleasantly hot.!
I use mine daily in work for my coffee and its still
Just as hot after 4 hours!
I have since bought another Bestek flask/mug its the matt black one which looks more flask like and so far its been brilliant and I actually prefer it to the first one, its easier to drink out of! Maybe that one would be better for you? Its about the same money with p&p
Hope this has been helpful? I sent my first leaky flask back and got a no quibble refund, so if you haven't already I suggest you send it straight back... Its obviously faulty!
All the best
Bev..
Ps Just took both flasks onto a very cold Welsh hillside for three hours walk.... they were attached one in each side net on my ruck sack getting plenty of wind chill!
I'm home now and still drinking hot coffee from both flasks!!! If I was picky I would say that the Matt black flask kept the coffee slightly hotter....so send yours back, it must be a dud !!
