Vegan Freak: uncompromising, forthright, essential reading for vegans,
This review is from: Vegan Freak: Being Vegan in a Non-Vegan World (Version 2.0: Revised, Expanded and Updated) (Tofu Hound Press) (Paperback)
Here's a video review of Vegan Freak. I read it about a year ago; it left a lasting impression and I've referred to it several times since.
Vegan Freak is a reference guide to how to thrive and prosper in a world that is still overwhelmingly non-vegan and carnivorous, and is written with intelligence and feeling. Its politics are forthright, clear and consistent yet it doesn't preach. It assumes a level of awareness amongst readers and advocates embracing one's `vegan freakdom', adopting a positive outlook and setting an example by showing people how easy it is to live as a vegan.
I agree with Renee the Kiwi who said that Vegan Freak helped to clarify her thinking on the issue. It certainly did that for me too.
It is highly recommended for those considering becoming a vegan or for people new to living without meat and dairy and their byproducts, and excellent reading for the more deeply entrenched.
