Clever To Do List for A Successful New Business,
By A Customer
This review is from: Rules for Revolutionaries: The Capitalist Manifesto for Creating New Products and Services (Hardcover)
RULES FOR REVOLUTIONARIES is a startle-them-into-reality book that works. In addition to the common sense approaches described with humor and candor, there are loads of lessons here about what to do and what not to do to have a brilliantly successful new business. I especially like Chapter 6 - Avoid Death Magnets because they are how we live our daily lives (heavens no, we can't cooperate with a competitor!), and Chapter 10 - Don't let Bozosity Grind You Down because these are all the ridiculous things smart people once thought were true. These echo from THE 2,000 PERCENT SOLUTION's stalls that explain why progress is so hard to win. In that book, Mitchell, Coles an Metz include The Communications Stall - Words Fail Me, The Disbelief Stall - You've Got To Be Kidding, The Tradition Stall - If It Ain't Broke, Don't Fix It, The Bureaucratic Stall - Molasses In The Works, The Misconception Stall - Misused Clichés and The Unattractiveness Stall- Ugly Ducklings. Mr. Kawasaki tries to shock us into change and offers simple, logical advice. Mr. Mitchell has us look in the mirror and then offers a creative and unique process to make progress at 20 times the normal rate. Another revolutionary process. Both books get my 'thumbs up'!
