Check Your Spelling!,
This review is from: The Bloody White Baron (Paperback)I found this an interesting study of a post-revolutionary figure who I previously knew little about. I was surprised, however, to find so many spelling and punctuation errors in the book. These include the incorrect use of the present tense verb 'has' on page 25 and a glaringly obvious error when Palmer tells us that a Russian mystic 'referred too [her disciples] as "flap-doodles"'. I might sound pedantic (in fact, I almost certainly do sound pedantic) but I did begin to lose faith in the book whilst reading certain very clumsy sentences. I assume that these mistakes have been corrected for the paperback version of the book but I do wonder what was going on in Faber's editing department as they checked the first edition through.

I'd missed the error on page 25! Probably because I'd only been scanning the book. But I thank you for this comment. Far too often editorial staff allow glaring errors to slip through.
