I must be getting old.,

I've liked incubus for years now. I love the older funkier albums and the transition into the more mellow sound of Morning Veiw. However I have reservations about this new release. Although as others have noted the songs are very well composed, I find myself being irritated by Brandon Boyd's voice. Not that he can't sing, he can and very well. It's just that the amount of 'oooo, aaahhh' and 'yeeeeeahs' that litter most of the songs on this album are extremely offputting and unnecessary. I wish he would just shut up or find something to say.
Which brings me to the lyrics. Now don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for award winning poetry. But a band that benifits from being signed to a label as large as Epic can't really whinge about big business (Megalomaniac).
So yeah, three stars, if you don't mind the warbling and uninspired lyrics it's a decent album.
