This review is from: Effortless Success: How to Get What You Want and Have a Great Time Doing It!: 6 (Audio CD)
Over the past few years I have listened to and read a whole myriad of material on NLP and self-development. However, nothing prepared me for this set of truly outstanding set of six CDs. In my own humble opinion, this ranks very highly and is right up there amongst the best material available on the subject of personal growth and realising one's potential.
Whilst the subject matter is vast in scope and yes, there are a few odd moments where the editing could have been a little better, there is something very natural and organic about the listening experience. I really like the small breaks and 'Little Bunny Foo Foo' stories, some of which are a bit left field but did have the desired effect of making me think on an altogether different level.
The many anecdotes too are sometimes humorous as well as thought-provoking as they do at times touch on some very deep subject matter. Michael has a brilliant knack of getting his point across and rather than thrusting ideas in your face (as often happens with most coaching material) the listener is allowed time to breathe and assimilate the ideas. There 'is' an awful lot of sense in what he says and his experience as a 'success coach' (a term which makes me cringe slightly) does show through.
He offers many strategies that will make you think 'How can I do this task better and more successfully?' One thing is clear. The term 'Effortless' in the slightly misleading title only comes into play the moment we start listening to that inner voice of wisdom in all of us (or as Michael eloquently puts it 'In case you are wondering, that's the one that doesn't think you suck'!)
I particularly like the sections on goal setting which sheds new light on an age old subject and also the concept of 'where there is a way there is a will'. Sometimes you do have to inconvenience yourself to get things done - that is a fact of life as very often 'small baby steps' doesn't quite cut the mustard. Stephen Covey talks about Private Victory and Michael's own example of how he introduced his own exercise routine well presented and highly motivating. It can be thought of as am example of a paradigm shift and certainly made me go 'wow!'
That's enough of me rambling on. In summary, this set gets a resounding five stars and a thumbs up from me. Thank you Michael for an excellent Audio CD collection!
