Rambling, pretentious nonsense. A lot of yap, yap, yap about nothing at all. This book feels about 100 years long - I only stuck with it to find out what the "betrayal" was. Be warned, you don't discover this until the last few pages. The main protagonist, Nora, is such a self-obsessed bore, I was positively looking forward to her being betrayed. Also, is it likely that a 21st century woman in her thirties would consider herself middle-aged?
God, I hated this book! I'd rather eat my own head than sit through it again.
