5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album form the legendary guy, 11 Oct 2005
This review is from: The Very Best Of Chris Spedding (Audio CD)
His son Steven was a success, but many forget what a great artist this guy was. This is his terrific greatest hits collection which starts with my personal favourite track "Rock N Roll Band" which is a great song up there with his very best! The album is packed with his hits throughout his long and successful career. OK, fair enough his son steven Spedding was an absolute superstar and some what over-shadowed his success in many ways, but his dad Chris also showed him how it was done with other classics such as "White Lady" and "New Girl in the Neighbourhood". The album features some of his more heart-felt songs like "The Crying game" and "hurt by love", which conveys Spedding's potential to write heart-felt ballads as well as rocking hits like "Gunfight" and "Roadrunner". All in all, this guy was brilliant, not up there with his son, Steven, in my opinion, but still a very under-rated singer who deserves more recognition for his classic songs!

Perhaps I'm completely up the creek, but I've never heard of Steven. Chris Spedding to me is the avante guard British guitarist who played on early Jack Bruce albums. Can there be two entertainers by the same name?

I have never heard of `steven` but Chris played with the band Sharks a early 70`s rock ensemble, quite brilliant at times!

I've never heard of Steven Spedding & can find no reference to him through a Google search. I've also never heard that Chris Spedding had a famous son. I think the original reviewer has got this wrong. I remember Chris for two reasons: 'Motorbikin'' a mid-seventies hit, and because he produced some early Sex Pistols demos.
