Excellent upgrade for an amateur SLR user,
This review is from: Nikon D60 Digital SLR Camera - Black (AF-S DX Nikkor 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6G VR) (discontinued by manufacturer) (Electronics)
Having held onto my excellent Nikon F55 far into the digital era and eventually gave in to the taunts from my friends and settled upon the D60 as my trusty F55's successor. Having owned it for over a month now and put it to good use I can safely say that I am delighted with my purchase. As with my F55, the 'Auto' setting allows for almost anyone with an ounce of photographic know-how to turn out some more than decent pictures. I have begun to delve deeper into the D60's more advanced capabilities and many of the functions are very similar to the old F55's making it the ideal upgrade for myself. The VR lens is an impressive bit of kit and I have delighted in taking plenty of previously impossible (without tripod) shots in low light. This was especially effective over Christmas with family around the Christmas tree; quick photos that would have been bleached by flash looked cosy and natural using this feature. I look forward to using it more.

I too have an F55. Have you tried the old lenses with your new digital Nikon?
