Back when they were ...,

This review is from: TNT (Audio CD)
A long time before they even thought they would emblazon a black t-shirt of a moronic US cartoon character, AC/DC were a no-frills hard rocking Australian pub band.
This collects this sound - from when Bon Scott fronted the band. Sadly,he died before they became the worldwide phenonemon they are today.
Equally as sad is how little of this music is known to the latter day AC/DC fans. My preference is for this era - the newer stuff is just too headbanging for my liking.
This contains some fantastic tracks such as High Voltage (one of the top ten rock songs of all time), A Long Way to the Top and TNT.
The other tracks aren't quite so good, but the abovementioned lift the rating in my book. The sound is pared back, sharp and filled with the personality of Bon Scott's voice. In later incarnations, AC/DC changed singers without too many people noticing, but you can tell the difference from Bon Scott's departure.
Simple, yes, bovine, perhaps, but undeniable in the energy and the uncomplicated, hard, driving sound that epitomises rock and roll.

I wouldn't say the "singer" being swapped over went unnoticed!? The hardcore fans and not so hardcore, especially around scouts death, would have noticed I would have to say. And still to this day fans are hugely divided as to which singer they prefer. Silly thing to say!!!
