The only GTA game for the Dreamcast,

I bought this as a welcome addition to my Dreamcast / GTA games collections.
I have briefly played the PC versions before, I kind of knew what to expect. Rather than the contemporary setting of GTA (and, indeed, the well directed opening video), GTA2 is set in a retro-futuristic city.
The city itself is well laid out, albeit with the old GTA game engine, with distinct zones for each of the city's gangs.
The gangs themselves are a new concept, you can align yourself with a gang or annoy another gang. This affects who will shoot at you and who will give you missions.
Graphically, the game looks well, probably as good as the PC version, although gameplay can only occur at night, not daytime. The Dreamcast handles the lighting effects well though.
It would have been interesting, though, to have seen a cutdown port of GTA3 for the DC, or a 3D GTA2, similar to Super Runabout.
Gameplay is fun for a while, though it does get a little tiring, even for a GTA fan. Truth be told, I preferred GTA London to this.
The Save option costs money though, which is a negative.
All in all though, a fun addition to a DC / GTA collection, and interesting to see the evolution from GTA -> GTA2 -> GTA3 -> GTA4 series.
