The Early Years....bringing it all back home.,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: The London American Label Year By Year: 1958 (Audio CD)
This was a few years before my record buying began. A lot of these tracks I was not familiar with. I bought this one because I have all the others in the series. Another great collection - although a lot of new ones on me - but certainly not disappointed, and have to mention the excellent sleeve notes on all these CDs.
I like some of the music today, but you can't beat these old classics. And this CD would have guarnteed appeal for anyone like myself who still loves the music from this era.
Teddy Boys, boot-lace ties, velvet collars, winkle-pickers, coffee bars, juke boxes, beehive hairdos, record players, local dance halls. Black and White TV: and the late 50's early 60's music shows -Oh Boy, Juke Box Jury, Six Five Special, Thank Your Lucky Stars.
First it was skiffle, then rock and roll, fond memories.
If you like the music from those early years, you will probably like the collection of songs on this CD . The big hits from these years have all been out for ages on many other compilations, but this is a collection of lesser known tracks. Some you may never have heard of, but still a good interesting collection from 1958 and the roots of Rock and Roll.
