Brilliant... i picked this up on the off chance and i'm very glad that i did. it's a great read; well written, informative and engaging. Roe charts the rise of the foremost individuals in the impressionist collective against the background of social change ongoing in France/Europe at the time. in so doing, she offers something for the novice and the more informed reader... recommended!
