Of no use to man or beast,
This review is from: OXO Good Grips Garlic Press (Kitchen & Home)
This press is unsuitable for any purpose. Specifically, it cannot actually press a clove of garlic -- the majority escapes around the edges of the press head. I threw mine away, and you will as well, should you foolishly buy one.

I totally agree have not had any problems with the covers but most of the garlic gets left in the press ... V. irritating. can anyone suggest a decent alternative? thanks

I have to agree - there is a design flaw here which means that more garlic is left in the press than actually gets pushed through it. I wish I'd seen your review before I bought it - such an expensive waste of money. My last one was a cheapo from Marks & Spencer and it did the job perfectly for 20 years!! Who would have thought finding a decent replacement could be so difficult!
