This review is from: Unknown Man No. 89 (Mass Market Paperback)
You need only two things to enjoy anything by Elmore Leonard - an enjoyment of thrillers set in the seamy underbelly of modern America, and a very, VERY dry sense of humour.
Here's a bit from the first page of "89" -
"His sister drove him down to the Detroit police car auction, where he bought a 1970 maroon and white Cougar for $250. His sister didn't like the Cougar because it had four bullet holes in the door on the driver's side. Ryan said he didn't mind the holes.."
If you like that, you'll love the rest of it and, by extension, anything else by him. Enough said.
