I went to see this at a local cinema on a Wednesday afternoon. Usually this cinema is fairly quiet as it shows a lot of art house flicks but I was surprised to see quite a few people there for this screening, then I realised that they were all fairly advanced in years and learnt further that the cinema gives a free drink to people on a Wednesday so the screen was full of people who presumably came out for a warm and a free cup of tea. As soon as the closing credits came up, there was muttering amongst the older memebers of the audience, whom the film probably flabbergasted - no score, no opening credits, no 'goodies', and, most importantly, no resolution or happy ending. I, on the other hand, was gobsmacked for all the above reasons and spent most of the following week thinking about the film, a sure sign that it has crept into ones consciousness.
Anyway I am glad to see that so many of the people who attended that screening have learnt to use that new-fangled interweb to express their disapproval of a brave, beautifully photographed, superbly acted film.
Only four oscars?
