Not just a King, but a statesman too,
This review is from: Guns (Kindle Single) (Kindle Edition)
This galvanizing little epistle might just be the best thing King has ever written. (It's certainly the most pragmatic). It should be central to the discourse which urgently needs to take place in America now. Let's face it, if the man who popularized modern horror and gave evil a thousand forms of expression is horrified by something... there's a good chance it is fairly gruesome. And if it's gruesome enough, then it should be changed.
It's a shame little or none of the pleas implicit within his enormously satisfying (not to mention accessible) text will ever be heeded - and King knows this - just as he knows the right will never change its stance on the issues the text is addressing.
It says a lot though about the nature of the man (a gun-owner himself), that he chose to make such a heartfelt call to (down) arms. I, for one, applaud his decision, and also his approach.
