offensive and self inflating. Also misses basic science.,
This review is from: Climate Change Denial: Heads in the Sand (Paperback)
I have read many many climate books. This one is just plain dumb and offensive. There is no tight science in it ( I got about 1/4 of the way it before I could stomach no more ) It gets lost in the bigot's view of scientific debate. The "lay" person will not fall for it and there are many many better books out there educating those who wish to learn more about the debate. "Denial" says it all. Trying to use a word that many associate with the acceptance of the mass murder of jews in the Holocaust as a sell-tag will backfire hugely I suspect.
This book is written by an australian ego-maniac with a few prozac-dosed followers with no background whatsoever in the science. I know absolutely nothing about many things, but I would not try and sell a book about those things I know nothing about , this "cartoon" character breaks new ground
Amongst the basic scientific errors of these zealots is their total lack of understanding of the basics of terrestrial glacial research, statistical trends towards temperature mamimum records and sea ice dynamics. They fail to understand ( or deliberately ignore ) basic senior school geography and maths and then stumble on to make ridiculous assumptions and statements.
.... total and utter garbage. A waste of the CO2 used to make it !!

Man, poor Dr Haydn Washington. A 38 year career in natural sciences, a degree in ecology, a Masters of Science in eco-toxicology (heavy metal pollution), a Dip. Ed., and a Ph.D in Climatology, and he still knows, apparently, nothing. And an ego-mainiac to boot! Thank God I read this well informed review!
To clarify for other readers: by 'these zealots', the reviewer refers to professional, multi-disciplinary scientists.

After the warmest decade in the human record we need books like these. The science is sound. Sadly, the denial is real.
