This review is from: The Fruit of Her Hands: Respect and the Christian Woman (Paperback)
I found this book to be full of sound counsel and thoroughly biblical.
The author writes from a complementarian (as opposed to egalitarian) perspective on gender roles. The book is directed towards wives and contains some fantastic material on respecting husbands that is strongly rooted in scripture (in my view the chapter on 'Respect' is worth the price of the book).
I think this book is slightly more on the conservative side of the complementarian view and so readers who are not yet fully settled with basic issues of submission/respect/authority/homemaking should be prepared to be challenged and may even want to consider going to a few 'softer' sources first because the author takes the bible's teaching on gender roles very seriously with little attempt to make it culturally acceptable, and this will offend some.
This book's close adherence to scripture makes it a very trustworthy book. Any husband who is married to a woman who embraces the sound biblical counsel of this book is a very lucky man indeed.
