Interesting, well written and well translated.,
This review is from: Relational Aesthetics [English Language Version] (Paperback)
I really enjoyed this book. Having had an interest in artists working in the field of relational aesthetics, but not really having had the way of working contextualized previously, I found this book to be extremely valuable. The book is split into six main essays, initially outlining the concept of Relational Form before going on to the following sections: Art of the 1990's, Space-time exchange factors, The theoretical legacy of Felix Gonzalez-Torres and Screen Relations. The final essay introduces some ideas for the future of relational aesthetics and introduces Felix Guattari's theories of subjectivity in relation to Lacan, Kant, Nietzche and Freud. There is also a glossary and contents index at the back.
The book feels good too, good size of page and text, perfect for me to make notes when necessary.
