Good Sex, But Where Is The Action?,
This review is from: Jessica's Seduction (Jessica's Seduction #1) (Kindle Edition)
Searching around Amazon for a new read, I came upon Jessica's Seduction. I'm still unsure the reason I purchased this title, as I am not a reader of erotica or romance. Let's just say I desired something new to moisten by reading appetite.
However, I am relieved the book cost me nothing on Kindle format and, as always, I'll take my hat off to the writer for his drive and success with the Jessica Seduction series, but, wholeheartedly, I loathed the book.
The book is much a short story then anything, with no sub-plots and a rather weak plot. Preston (the stand in boss) meets Jessica at work; they fall for one another; they go on holiday and engage in plenty of sex; book is over.
Therefore, the story was flat and too obvious. It did not have any solid plot. All the story involved was a boss and his assistant initially playing hard-to-get, going on holiday and having tons of sex. Alongside the fact that every scene written never had any "real" conflict, the only interesting parts were the "sex scenes". And I'm sorry to complain about the latter, but the main character lacked emotion, especially when it came to the sex scenes.
Reading the book made me think I was reading a treatment for a pornographic film. I does carry a boring and repetitive edge, which had me closing my eyes, rather then getting excited. I believe the writer needs to think about placing more detail into his scenes, instead of making them feel he wrote them in less than an hour.
I have only given the book two stars due to the reasons mentioned, and in my opinion it is lucky to achieve such a rating. The only thing which gives the book any drive is the sex.
