5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely superb, 5 Jan 2000
This review is from: Tape Head (Audio CD)
Kings X, for the benefit of those who have yet to sample their unique brand of rock, are one of those bands who find themselves too good and original to break into the mainstream world of Rock. Although Tape Head has been on release for some time now, its fresh guitar fuelled sound and backing vocals you could eat stomp all over most recent releases with a size twelve Doc Martens. From the opening track, Groove Machine, to the truly bizarre closer, Walter Bela Farkas (Walter Farkas is the guitarist for the Galactic Cowboys - another great band you should look out for), Kings X never let up on the quality. Fade, Cupid and and Ocean simply drip with atmosphere. Produced by the guitarist / vocalist Ty tabor, the album can be considered a minor classic. As a unit, Ty, Doug Pinnick (bass and vocals) and Jerry Gaskill (drums and vocals) are as tight a unit as you will ever find. Believe me, you will have no regrets if you decide to buy this album. Go on, you know you want to - 'Buy it now!!!'.
