Great read, (not pulp 'romantic fiction'),

This review is from: Courtesan (Kindle Edition)This was a nice suprise in a book that I read on the strength of sketchy reviews. It is a people and personality driven plot with the good the bad, the weak and the strong, the proud and the shy, even genius and naif all taken into an adventure with technical science in just enough detail to interest without overloading.
A good book, a bit short, without enornmous pretensions, not by any means a 'purple-prosed bodice ripper' either, in case the title misled. The characters, their cultures, limited world views and motives are detailed and interact very convincingly. The world and its science are credible and interesting. The way the writter uses Glimpses here and there leaves more to the imagination than the pen, and it works well like a catalyst for the intelligent reader.
Better than many more expensive, and I'm keeping it in my collection. It's in no way a Heinlein, though I think I see where an earlier review may have found something of a tenous flavour...
