This review is from: Tiny Love Super Mat (Baby Product)
We live in Italy at the moment and like most apartments, we have marble floors. You can imagine the gut-wrenching feeling I get when I think my little one might fall over and smack his head on a hard floor. So I bought a lovely big rug but I found that the surface is still quite hard compared to carpet over a wooden floor. I wanted to have a nice big mat for my son to play on and this is perfect. There are lots of features to keep the tot entertained and even space for me to lie down with him. My husband (Italian) didn't really understand about carpets at first, never having lived in a house with one and he asked me how you fit them in the washing machine (!!!) so he is not at all keen to have a baby in contact with a surface where people walk, I on the other hand, didn't like the idea of sticking my son in a playpen or chair all day long (how do they learn to crawl/walk/etc in such a confined cage, oh sorry, I mean space?) so this is a great compromise.
I have only deducted a star because the mat is lovely and soft, but this make it very slippery when I try to pull him up to a sitting or standing position, his little feet just slide along the mat. Also for tummy time, his hands slide about a bit but I just put a towel down for a better grip. It probably won't be a problem in the next few weeks when he is stronger on his arms.
It is nicely padded too (although still not enough for my house with the rotten marble floors) but I think if you have wooden or carpeted floors it would be just fine.
I think this is something that will last him a long time, I am really pleased with it.
Forgot to mention, it comes in a nice plastic carry bag to keep it clean when it's not being used. And delivery to Italy was very very quick!
