I am really disappointed with this second book - more so, because I loved the first. There is very little breadth in the second book, not much about what goes on at the farm or how Micheal makes a living (apart from the book royalties). Instead most of the book is devoted to MW's search for his lifelong partner and musings on his childhood/adolescent crushes and a detailed analysis of why he hasn't been able to find a perfect partner to date. I would have loved to read a bit more about the day-to-day going on's at the farm, some of the challenges towards self-sufficiency, and interactions with the neighbours - it may not be very exiciting, but surely it can't have been that dull either to not be worth a mention?
