Lightweight but entertaining,
This review is from: Papadopoulos and Sons [DVD] (DVD)
My wife is learning Greek and so we have to go to Greek movies - which this sort of is (well actually it isn't - it is a very British movie - both in setting and in style.) It is no masterpiece but it is an entertaining way of passing an hour and a half.
The plot and the outcome is fairly obvious from the first ten minutes and there are no character or plot surprises but it is nicely done. The acting is fine and the scene setting - London - is good. Yes - it is a feelgood film - but what's wrong with that? Would I want to see it again? No - but I did enjoy it and it is a decent way to spend an evening.
Sort of like an Ealing comedy for 2012 but without Stanley Holloway.
