Looking forward to volume 2!,
This review is from: Invincible Iron Man Volume 1: The Five Nightmares TPB: Five Nightmares v. 1 (Graphic Novel Pb) (Paperback)
I am a massive Iron Man fan and love the Kaminski/Hopgood run from the early/mid 90s. Following this I have to say that "Extremis" excels all that has gone before and the quality has been consistently maintained by Daniel and Charles Knauf's run which I feel is Iron Man's finest hour since the Kaminski/Hopgood run.
Following the movie version I was intrigued to check out this collection, re-printing the first seven issues of "The Invincible Iron Man", sister title to the main "Iron Man: Director of SHIELD" title. I have to say I was pleasantly surprised, although I prefer the main title (dark, sophisticated and written like and epic tv series) this is a damn good read and would appear to be more in tone with the movie (more light hearted). Salvador LaRocca's pencils suit the title perfectly and Matt Fraction has a good handle on the character.
I will be picking up volume 2 without a doubt.
