This review is from: HDMI Cable (PS3) (Video Game)Just a quick heads up for potential buyers saying that you dont need to spend £17.99 on a HDMI cable. I bought a cable which looks exactly the same as the one Amazon is advertising (from a third party seller here) for less than £2.
The picture quality will be the same and cannot improve because of the cable so save some money and find a bargain.
As for the cable, its a standard HDMI which supports up to 1080p
Works on all TVs with a HDMI port

I just got a new PS3 for christmas, and I was just wondering does a HDMI cable have a noticeable effect on the graphics or quality?

Do you mean versus component? In that case yes. Between different HDMI leads? Not really. It just transmits zeros and ones, and they either get there or they don't. An expensive cable won't magically make the picture better. The only exception would be if you're using a really long cable (i.e. 5 or 10m plus). I'm led to believe that in cases like that a lower quality cable may allow the signal to degrade.

At £2 you can't go wrong, so I wholeheartedly recommend this cable, but just so people know, in terms of picture, high-end cables are future proof. In the coming months and years the picture will improve further and low end cables are limited. That being said, at this price, worry about the future later, because by then there will probably be a £2 cable out that can handle that technology as well!

The Gadget Show on Channel 5 did a feature on cheap v. expensive HDMI cables and found there was no difference.

I think it was on that show that they mentioned that the only difference there will be is determined by whether they are gold plated or not. I dont know much about it in detail but picked up that a gold plated or lined (not on the cable) connector is the good one and will be a lot durable and lasting.
Thats why I bought a HDMI cable that was £50! Fifty! But it was down to £5! I was amazed at the prize drop. Maybe it didnt sell because it was so short. 1.5m maybe... The quality is excellent. The cable, just by feeling it you'll be pleased. High quality build. But its so short!
