Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Gone Girl (Kindle Edition)
I kept seeing this book on the best seller bookshelf in my local supermarket and I swithered whether to purchase it or not.
After all, it had so many "good" reviews on the product description (wish I had read some Amazon reviews as well..).
When Amazon reduced the Kindle price I thought I'd give it a go. More fool me...
It was a real struggle to reach the halfway stage and then I thought "Mmm, it's starting to pick up a little bit".
Unfortunately it went back downhill pretty soon afterwards and as for the ending...Jeez Louise..there are so many holes in this story it is untrue.
Here is a short (lucky for you) summary of the story:
Nick Dunne's wife (Perfect Amazing Amy) goes missing on their 5th wedding anniversary and it's assumed by police there is foul play.
Front door wide open, iron still burning, upturned furniture, no sign of Amy etc etc.
Nick tells the police some lies along the way but has Amy been murdered or is something else going on?
My advice is: if you are 30-40 pages in and it isn't gripping you..don't continue. It doesn't improve that much (if any) from my point of view.
