How I love...Your Scandalous Ways,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Your Scandalous Ways (Mass Market Paperback)
I was really surprised when I came to this book page and saw the low reviews. Aside from Don't Tempt Me this is the best Chase book I've read so far. If I didn't know it was Chase, I'd have guessed it was a different author to that of The Last Hellion, which, though good, didn't enthrall me as much as I'd have liked. It drew me in as a few of her books haven't and made me really involved with the characters instead of the plot. That's a good thing.
Francesca was a likeable character despite her unusual profession and I could understand her motivations although some of her comments are risque even to my standards! (I did enjoy them despite this).
James was a brilliant hero, dashing, daring and a spy/thief. Everything you could want. I found the repartee between them to sparkle and the sex scenes were hot and I didnt feel as though they'd been pushed in where they didn't belong to merely correspond to the publisher's desire for X amount of love scenes.
Unlike many Regency romances, this is set in Venice and the way Chase describes it provides a great backdrop for the romance. I read the book in a day and only that long because I had to stop for tea breaks. I would highly recommend this book and also Don't Tempt Me that has the same witty and involving characters as Your Scandalous Ways.
