what are those three stars for anyway...?,
This review is from: Manchester City: 20 Defining Matches (Kindle Edition)Manchester City have a whole '20' defining matches? This surprises me greatly... unless The Guardian is counting all their relegation battles?

And they call us "Bitter"! You're either a troll, or don't have a clue about City, who were the No.1 team in Manchester in the early 70's, the first team from Manchester to win the FA Cup, and still hold the attendance record for a league match 84,000 v Stoke in 1934
A match doesn't have to be a top flight, top of the table clash, to be defining, especially to the fans of said team, it's all relative, but seeing as we are just a small, non desrcript team from "Manchester" ( as apposed to Trafford) who have no history, never won anything and don't deserve to win the title, we probably haven't registered on your radar until recently.... 3 stars are purely decorative by the way (but they could represent the 3 league titles we've won)
Off the top of my head:
1934 FA CUP
1934 84,000 record attendance
1999 play off come back V Gilliangham
1981 FA CUP replay with "that" Ricky Villa goal
1969 FA Cup
2012 last minute win, coming back to score 2 in injury time, after coming back from an 8 point deficit to UTD
10-1 Vs Huddersfield
1970 Uefa Cup Winners Cup
5-1 V Utd
6-1 V UTD
2-2 V Liverpool relegated
0-1 v Luton Town relegated
1-0 Wembley Semi V UTD 2011
1-0 Stoke FA Cup winners 2011
And many more that my memory cannot recall, or I'd have to ask my dad about!
there's 15 for you off the top of my head.

"... purely decorative?"
Wallpaper is purely decorative.... A club badge is, I hope, meant to stand for more than that? City do have a grand history but it was ditched, along with your badge, your ground, and clearly, your self respect.

top comment but remember they did have the biggest floodlights in the league the three stars commemorate the number of managers they had in season 97-98 the season before the never forgotten 2-2 draw with the mighty gillingham .
