This review is from: Once You Kiss a Stranger [DVD] [Region 1] [US Import] [NTSC] (DVD)Thankyou Warner Archive - So many real lost goodies now available (but not in U/K High Streets). This one is a typical cheaper film of the late 60's with "B" stars (except for Carol Lynley in my humble..). Cheezy theme song, mediocre acting from some, and writing that wouldn't win awards... I loved it! It's not been around for many years, and I always had memories of Carol in a bikini and I wasn't disapointed! She is the star and holds the film together, even tho I can't help feeling she is a bit miscast as a schizophrenic murderess! The other actors give exactly what you would expect..Paul Burke (thicko), Phil Carey (nasty), Martha Hyer (has looked better), Stephen Mcnally (he must have got the script, checked his fee, and said "To hell with it-I'll play it for comedy"), only Whit Bissel has non cliched role. The plot - a variation on Highsmith's novel - done better before and since. You must be thinking - did he really like this film? Yes, I did. Wonderful Print (Colour and soundtrack excellent), Carol, so good to watch, and it does have it's moments. Yes it's dated, but for me, none the worse for that. Recomended, and not just, but mainly for, nostalia lovers.
