This review is from: Visual Chronicles: The No-Fear Guide to Art Journals, Creative Manifestos and Altered Books (Paperback)
This book is aimed at people who are interested in art journaling but don't know where to start.
It has chapter titles like 'I don't have any ephemera, and I don't know what it is', which sums up the vibe of the whole book: it's a very basic, super-encouraging guide to get people started.
Having said that, I am an experienced art journaler and I still like this book a lot more than many others I've got on my shelf. It's got an unpretentious energy about it, and I really like the clean simple style and the minimalist wording of the authors' example pages.
If you're into deep meaning and writing reams of soul-searching prose on your art journal pages then this probably won't be for you, but if you like a simpler, more upbeat approach to art journaling I think this is a great little book.
