It all went downwards after this,

Last 'great' album from classic-KISS. Some catchy songs, and no album 'fillers'. This came on the back of the so-so solo albums, so Simmons and Criss needed to raise their game, no such worries for Stanley and Frehley who includes a wonderful cover of the Rolling Stones 2000 Man.
I'd like to have heard Eddie Kramer produce this, as Vini Poncia is a pop producer. However, as KISS had become a band for teens, its hardly suprising that the band wanted to retain that 'bubblegum' pop sound.
The album cover is appalling given the chins of Frehley and Criss are cropped and top of Stanley and Simmons heads are also cropped. The free poster included with the vinyl sales in 1979 would have been a better album cover.
As said, their last decent album. Even Peter Criss's Dirty Livin' was a 'return to form'
