comprehensive database design,
This review is from: Database Design and Programming with Access, SQL, Visual Basic and ASP (2nd edition) (Paperback)
This book does cover design of a relational database very well and ERD's too. It goes onto macro's in reports and forms, although it would have been nice to have a CD with the database on to work with. It is quite difficult to imagine setting up reports an macros.
There is a lot of screen shots here, which is great if you are unsure. I suppose it is a beginners book.
I bought this book thinking it would introduce me to VBA within Access. There is none of this. It is all linking Access through VB, which is different. I had to buy the SYBEX developers book 1 to cover this and front end forms with functionalilty

From John Carter (Author) VBA within Access is in fact covered in detail in Chapter 12 (pp 446-465) with lots of examples and exercises. More are contained on the book's website on http://www.databasedesign.co.uk. This book has sold well over the years and is still going strong. It was a pleasure to write and I'm happy with all the positive feedback I've received - from both the English and Chinese editions.
