Laytons First 3DS Adventure,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask (Nintendo 3DS) (Video Game)
Professor Layton & The Miracle Mask.
Join the famous Professor Layton & his faithful friends, Luke & Emmy, in his latest adventure. The intrepid trio is called upon to stop the mysterious Masked Gentleman from terrorising the city of Monte d'Or with magically dark miracles, such as turning citizens to stone.
The professor suspects the involvement of the Mask of Chaos, a mask rumoured to bestow great power upon whoever wears it, The revelation takes Layton back to a dark episode of his past, which may hold the solution to the problems of the present, These flashbacks introduce Layton's parents and childhood friend Randall, & allow you to play as the 17 year-old Layton, who pays a high price for discovering his passion for archaeology.
Professor Layton & the Miracle Mask on the Nintendo 3DS combines 3D animations & character models to bring in depth visuals & very addictive gameplay & a brand new intriguing storyline with a varied range of brain teasing puzzles that vary in difficulty which at times made this gamer scratch his head in complete confusion.
A excellent feature in Miracle Mask is playing as a 17yr old Layton which is a great addition & adds a certain dramtic depth to the Layton character plus you can download additional puzzles that extends the game's longevity.
I love the Professor Layton games & this is his first adventurous experience on the 3DS & delivers a excellent upgrade graphically from the previous DS titles but also features a wide variety of tantalising puzzles & contains a huge adventure to explore that adds up to many hours of addictive gameplay & wholesome fun for the whole family.
Mini Games Include:
The Toy Robot challenges you to control a wind-up toy robot that always moves three steps at a time. Navigating a series of contraptions along the way, can you guide it to the goal safely?
One-Stop Shop is where your skills of stocking shelves in an appealing way are put to the test - you'll only succeed if you manage to entice customers to buy everything off the shelves in one go.
Rabbit Show is where you'll help Luke train a circus rabbit that has been deemed unfit to perform by its angry ringmaster. Chat & train the rabbit to teach it new tricks and perform in plays that will persuade its master to accept it back into the circus.
I found these mini games a welcome addition that allows a change of scenery from the main adventure & adds a little more variety to the overall gameplay.
