Not really like the original fairytales it depicts or Pop Up,

The cover is lovely with gold writing down a greeny coloured spine which is in sharp contrast in colour and material to the rest of the cover and book.
I have to say I was a little disappointed as I thought it was going to be pop up book due to the description I read before receiving and the blatant picture on the cover of an enchanted castle coming out of the book. That aside, its is a really good quality book with glossy pages of pictures of pop ups (not actual pop ups) which are stunning and beautiful in how intricate they are.
The stories were a little disappointing too as they were a little differing from some, particularly the 'The Frog Prince' as one of the vital parts of the story is that he asks the princess for a kiss which did not happen, therefore making the story completely different in my mind. While the nature of fairytales and folklore through the ages has made a number of stories and fairytales such as that of The Frog Prince, Cinderella etc. change with the greatest example being Disney, these don't seem in tune or intone with the paper sculpture pictures depicted alongside.
Don't get me wrong, the stories were okay and they pretty much skimmed over the main theme of most of the these famous fairytales but that's all it was. It was like a summary of the fairytales and sometimes not even that as the stories seemed to be missing some of the key parts to what make them the famous fairytales they are.
It's unlikely this book will fit on your bookshelf too as its pretty big and I don't think the over £10 is worth it despite it's beautiful cover, when you can get so many cheaper books which are truer to the originals. It is clear Jones took a lot of time and effort to build the models to correspond with each of the 7 stories and had they been real it would have been an genuinely original and lovely book.
