Fantastic second book - highly recommended - A *****,
This review is from: Home Cooking Made Easy (Hardcover)
Very excited to receive my copy of Lorraine's new book on Saturday. Knowing how impressive and easy to follow the recipes were in the first book, I picked a few recipes from the new book to make that evening when having people over for dinner. I made the "creamy pancetta pasta with mushroom and parmesan" with a rocket salad and "my big fat tipsy trifle" for dessert. They were both so easy to make and they looked amazing! Usually when I am cooking for a few people, I really stress myself out but the the recipes are so easy to follow - all of the ingrediants were easily found in my local supermarket and Lorraine describes how to do each step very simply, yet still the finished products look so complicated and skilfully made. My mates were very impressed - ha! Lorraine is my secret weapon!

Interesting review. I'm not brave enough to make two new recipes within one day for friends coming round that evening. I also wouldn't have cooked pasta for a Saturday night supper for guests, though it does look nice. I disagree about it looking 'complicated' but the trifle looks quite spectactular.
I notice you haven't reviewed any other cook books but perhaps you're an experienced cook anyway and if so I was wondering how you feel Lorraine compares to other food writers?

Does seem odd- the more reviews I look at the funnier they look. Most of them surpass the writing ability of the original author. I doubt that I would have had time to buy the ingredients and put it together the time my post is delivered. Hey ho.
