Odd litttle book,

The copy I read had 164 pages and the font was so large that it felt as though I was reading a children's book. Although it took much longer to read.
Putting aside the presentation, I can't say that this book was any more than OK. The characters did not drag me into the story and the plot seemed slow for such a small book.
There is a very odd writing style with abrupt sentences and chapters. Maybe this is due to the translation or maybe it is the original author, no chance of me finding out as I'm never going to read this in the original language. I wasn't keen but it did have the effect of building up the tension quite quickly.
I love a court room drama and thought that this was set up well to be a great one but it turned out not to be. There is an interesting legal point at the centre of the plot but it became quite technical and was in conflict with the rest of the book.
If you love court room dramas and are intersted in fine legal points then it is worth a go but not the great court room thriller that I was expecting.
