Let down by poor design,
This review is from: Veho VCC-A002-WPC Waterproof Case for Muvi Micro Camcorder (Electronics)
It is so disappointing that they didn't make more of an effort with this. The case itself seems quite well made and looks up to the job of keeping the muvi dry in and on the water.
The plastic spring clip mount is of the same low quality as the one that comes with the camera itself. I.e. weak spring, poor design meaning it doesn't have much 'grip'. It certainly isn't up to holding the weight of the camera and case on something like a lifejacket or buoyancy aid.
The elasticated strap could have been ok but there's no non-slip backing so if you have any kind of visor or peak on a helmet and try to use this it will just slip off. So again I can't use it for the situation I wanted.
Once again this is crying out for a SIDE mounting for helmet use (many helmets have visors/peaks).
The 'universal tripod mount' is NOT A TRIPOD MOUNT. It looks like it is probably an M5 thread. Someone here commented that there's a bracket in the 'extreme sports pack' that will fit it - not in mine there isn't.
Once again a good idea from Veho that COULD have been so useful if it wasn't for poor design and weak accessories. I will be constructing my own custom helmet mount for this as none of the items in the pack are any use for me. If you're using it on a bare head (or possibly with the arm strap from the extreme sports pack) then it is probably ok.
Also it would have been nice if there was an eyelet in the case for attaching a safety lanyard in case the camera is knocked off at sea. Finally from the description in the listing - is it 25m or 30m waterproof!?
*** UPDATE ***
On around the 10th use, the hinge on the clasp bit that snaps the case shut tight broke. On inspection the plastic is very thin right at the place that takes most strain when you're closing the case. Again, poor design. On the upside the seller sent me a replacement very quickly and without any quibble.
