Simple, functional, does exactly what it says,
Verified Purchase(What is this?)
This review is from: Shocksock Samsung Galaxy Cases - Various (Galaxy Note) (Wireless Phone Accessory)
Good price, simple and basic. Does exactly what it says.
Nice and simple design with no annoying frills. Lightweight.
Quick and easy to use: slip your phone in, stick the flap down, chuck it into your bag and off you go! No fiddling around with zips or press-studs.
Minor minus points (nothing major)
The padding is a little on the thin side - I wouldn't want to do any sort of height-drop tests with it. But for basic scratch protection, it works fine.
Not a very snug fit width-wise - make sure you don't accidentally leave the flap open and pick up the case upside down - the phone will shoot out like a slippery fish!
Small niggle: the strip of material that holds the stitching on the inside front edge of the case, keeps being folded forwards every time I close the flap so that when I open the flap, the strip then sits at right-angles to the case. Perhaps a couple of weeks of closing the flap more slowly, while pushing this strip flat, will solve the problem. Minor issue though.
If you want something simple to protect against light bumps and scratches for gentle day to day use, this does the job well.
If you're going hiking and want to stuff your phone in a backpack with lots of other things that will be banging against it, better to get a hard case.

A balanced review which provides the pro and cons of the product. Practical examples of how the product behaves is just what people want to hear in order to help decide on a purchase. thankyou.

Thanks for your feedback: it was my first Amazon review of a product..wasn't sure if I'd written too much info.

You say it is "Not a very snug fit width-wise". If I put a SUNNY SAVERS SAMSUNG GALAXY NOTE N7000 GT-N7000 PURPLE 'S' WAVE GEL / SILICONE / HYBRID CASE COVER SKIN WITH FREE SCREEN PROTECTORon it 1st would that help or would it make it too bulky?. I know it is a bit "Belt and Braces" but the note is a very expensive piece of kit and I'm not keen on the flip type case.

That might help though I'm not 100% sure if it would then make it difficult to close the flap. As some of the reviewers have described it as fitting perfectly, perhaps mine just happened to be a looser fit than theirs, or perhaps they are using it with a case cover?
I recently switched to using a wallet-style flip case instead (this one: http://www.amazon.co.uk/SAMSUNG-PREMIUM-L
I don't find that the wallet-style flip style case is ideal either: it is awkward to hold the phone against your ear when making a call, it leaves the phone exposed on three sides, and it is rather bulky, but on the plus side, I feel that it gives better protection for the phone.
I'm still looking for the perfect case!

Does it flip out of the way easily when you're making a call?

Yes, there is a crease just below the main camera lens where you can fold the cover back out of the way
