The Games continue ...,
This review is from: Catching Fire (Hunger Games, Book 2) (Paperback)
This picks up the story shortly after Katniss and Peeta have returned to District 12 after the Hunger Games shortly before they begin their victory tour. All is not well in the districts, and while it's hoped the tour will calm the rumblings in the districts, it has the opposite effect.
Like The Hunger Games, I found this hard to put down. I liked the fact we get to know the characters in deeper way, and the scars left by the Games on Katniss, Peeta and Haymitch are evident. This is gritty, poignant and heartbreaking at times, and the shocking, emotive cliff-hanger of an ending left me eager to pick up the last in the trilogy - Mockingjay - straight away.
Thought-provoking, riveting and highly recommended to adults as well as young adults.
