As good as the rest,
This review is from: A Dance With Dragons (A Song of Ice and Fire, Book 5) (Hardcover)
I don't see why this book has got some bad reviews. Perhaps people don't understand the book properly, and the concept of two books covering one period of time? Whatever the reason, I think they're wrong. A great read.

It got bad reviews because people did not like it. Personally I am finding it to be a good read but it does ramble on a bit and the story is not progressing very much. There is plenty of room in this book for a good editor. The fact that the author is a good writer is all that is keeping me going now. As I've said the story does not really progress and I don't think this is good enough after a six year wait especially given the gap between books in what is essentially a feast for crows part two. The first three books were excellent but the story has stalled big time at this point. I have not given up but now I am happy to wait for the next one and if it never comes out I won't be too bothered.

That's a bit patronizing, is it not ? It god bad reviews because it had little to no plot advancement, a host of POVs nobody really cares about and the POV readers DO care about seem to have lost their punch.
