I recently had a series of counselling sessions following a combination of a serious health problem and difficult family situations. My counsellor used Mindfulness techniques which worked well for me. Mindfulness means 'paying attention in a particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgmentally'. It is a way of consciously focussing on the present, the possible and the positive and also involves easy meditation. I bought this book because I thought a boost would be good, and it is.
If you are happy learning about how to access ways of improving your daily mental wellbeing from a book I would recommend trying this book which also comes with a CD of guided meditations. It makes a lot of sense and I think it is an invaluable tool.
